Sometimes Only Books Keep me Sane

No, really, they do. I swear anything that can be considered stupid in my eyes I fight through with books. I guess you could say me and my "love affair" with books started a long while back.
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved books. My mom often says I would carry around books before I could read and, if she had let me, I would have been reading before I started school. By carrying them everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE, if I took a toy in the car, it wasn't a normal toy, it was a book. Every night at bedtime I would always want to sleep with one and would make my mother read me one. I was kind of a book freak.
Now, Kindergarden is where my reading escapade really took off. My first Kindergarden teacher (I moved  halfway through the year) focused A LOT on reading, giving me a lot of practice with my ABCs. The first time I really read was after I moved, my second Kindergarden teacher sent home some books to read with our parents. We had learned all our letters and some blend sounds but not how to actually read. When my mother and I sat down to read them, I breezed through and didn't need her help. Thinking my class had gone through them previously, she asked my teacher, we hadn't. Yeah, that's right, I technically taught myself to read.
My first chapter book was Junie B. Jones book by Barbara Park and since then I have read bigger and more challenging books. A few times I have read some that are "dumbed down" for my reading ability but now, I'm doing something completely insane.
I am reading War and Peace by Leo Toltstoy, I'm almost 200 pages in and I'm loving every second of it. From looks and comments I've gotten (from teens and adults alike) it seems most don't think it's possible for a fourteen year old to finish such a big and intricate book.
I'm going to prove them dead wrong.

Now, to shift to a different gear, I'm going to give you all some recommendations for books to read if you think your going insane and need an escape.

The Mortal Instruments Series and The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare
The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
The Last Apprentice Series by Joseph Delaney
The Nine Lives of Chloe King by Liz Braswell
The Matched Trilogy by Allie Condie
There are many other modern pieces of literature that I cannot remember the names of.
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy is the only classic I have read/am reading and I highly recommend it.

Introduction

Hello,  I'm a 14 year old girl who was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, a high-fuctioning form of Autism, at age 10.
I've always had many strange things that are a part of who I am, or you could say what makes me "Tick" This blog will let you explore the inner workings of my mind and all it holds.
Within these entries you may meet my mother, father, older sister, younger sister, brother, and baby sister, and with them around, it's one heck of a ride.
Better put your seat belts on a get ready, because it may be a life saver with such a crazy ride.
